Barcelona: Together with Madrid, it's the second most important capital of Spain. Barcelona is one of the main and most dynamic enclaves of the Mediterranean, already from Roman times. It was founded under Augusto, and slowly substituted Tarragona as most important Catalan city. The colony of Barcino gradually became the first Catalan City. In Barcelona one can start counting the monuments, the enormous mixture in style, the magnificent avenues but it will be difficult to finish. In short, Barcelona is worthwhile a visit to enjoy it in all its magnificence.

Granada: Situated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, over the hills of Sacromonte and Albaicin. It was founded in the 5th century BC. Despite its artistic richness, it developed tremendously under Arab domination. Examples of this flourishing are the Alambra - Generalife, surrounded by fountains and gardens like a paradisaical oasis. The cathedral and other monuments make the city of Granada worthwhile visiting.

Malaga: Founded by the Phoenicians who gave it the name of Malaka, because of its privileged situation at the end of a large bay. It attracted plenty of settlers throughout its history and became port of the Kingdom of Granada under Arab domination. The cathedral, the citadel and other monuments highlight Pablo Picasso's cradle in such a way that a visit to Malaga is programmed in all tours through Andalusia.

Sevilla: The city of Sevilla, which the Romans called Hispalis and which was the capital of their Betica, lived its most splendid time under Arab domination in the VIII century. You can see and visit monuments such as the GoldenTower, remains of the Arab walls, called Golden because of the glitter of its tiles. The Giralda, cathedral and countless parks, and its typical quarters make Sevilla one of the most attractive, cosmopolitan and lively cities of Spain. Also recommendable are the Holy Week and the Feria de Abril.

Cordoba: This city boasts a legendary history, which elevated it to the ulterior Roman capital of the Spanishness and to the court of the first independent caliphate of Damascus. Under Arab domination, culturally and economically it lived its most splendid time. That is also when it became connected to Granada by means of citadels, castles and fortresses. An example of its magnificence is the mosque, built by Abd-Al Arman I, on the foundations of the Visigothic cathedral. Stroll along the surrounding area of the mosque, and you will go back in history and find yourself in other times.

Toledo: The Unesco declared the city of Toledo National Trust property. It is situated between the hills and surrounded by the river Tajo. This former capital of Visigothic Spain is indeed quite a monument itself. The cathedral, Alcazar, the Jewish quarter, etc. make this capital a jewel of art.

Madrid: The settlement of the capital of Spain dates back to the Palaeolithic period. Like many other Spanish capitals, it reached its most splendid times under Muslim domination. In the IX century, Muhammad I built a fortress, named Llamadamaytit, and which was definitely conquered by the Christians in 1085. As a result of transferring the court of Toledo to Madrid in 1561, on the orders of Philip II, it became capital of Spain till now (except for 1601-1606). The large amount monuments, the museums, the parks, etc. make Madrid a beautiful city worth of visit during your stay in Spain.

Zaragoza: A mixture of Iberians, Romans, Muslims, Jews and Christians has left tracks here during the 2000 years of history in this city. Zaragoza is the capital with the two cathedrals: the Seo and the Pilar, built over the Ebro and as the legend says, the Blessed Virgin appeared here unto the Apostle Santiago. Its most popular festival is the 12th October, day on which America was discovered.
